Increasing the Space Between Stimulus and Response
We’ve all done it; we’ve reacted to our children, spouses, friends, and colleagues. Sometimes its just giving in, when we know we shouldn’t. Sometimes it’s snapping, when we know it won’t help. Sometimes its neglect, when we know procrastination will only bury us deeper. Stephen Covey taught that there is a space between stimulus and response. But how do we increase that space? How do we truly act from a place of intention, purpose, and love? Come discover that space and learn how to increase it, with Adam Hailstone.
Adam Hailstone received his BA from a small Liberal Arts school. He has spoken to 1,000’s of people across North America inspiring people to improve their lives and obtain a liberal arts education. It is his life’s mission to help pull people out of life’s ruts and to motivate them to live a meaningful life. Adam spent much of his 20’s as a small business owner. Later he sold his business to help build Williamsburg Learning, which operates three schools, including Leadership Academy of Utah. Currently, he is serving as a Mentor, Director of Leadership and Chief Marketing Officer.
As a co-founder of Williamsburg Learning, James Ure is on a mission to transform education in the 21st century. He loves preparing students to live meaningful lives as principled leaders. He also loves inspiring a young generation of parents, teachers, and education leaders to bring out the best in students and prepare them for the unique challenges and opportunities in the Information Age. James is a provocative speaker, published writer, and successful education entrepreneur.

James lives in the desert of southern Utah with his wife Ange and their four children. He loves running, biking, climbing, literature, movies, rock concerts, yoga, and comedy nights with his nerdy friends. When he grows up he wants to run for office and promote meaningful education reforms.

Liberating The Leader Within
You don’t need to find yourself. You’re not lost. You’re already in there, buried under other’s expectations, social pressure and the masks we put on to protect ourselves. But, how do you uncover that true self and live from a place of truth? Come learn how, with Adam Hailstone

Stop Shaping and Start Liberating
Many educators believe that their purpose is to shape the hearts and minds of young people. But, think about that word, “shape.” While these sentiments have good intentions, this thinking represents a fundamental flaw in the way we see education. In life “there are things that act and things that are acted upon.” When we treat young people as a “thing to be acted upon,” to be shaped, we are failing to teach that young mind and heart to think for themselves, to problem-solve, to be proactive and to create.

Worldschooling;  Helping Your Family Gain New Bonds and New Perspective
A few years ago my family and I decided we needed a change, so we packed up and started traveling the world. We’ve been to 33 countries, had some amazing and difficult experiences that I’d like to share with you if you’re interested in doing something similar.
G’day mate! Yes, you guessed it, I am Australian. Not quite the ‘Steve Urwin Crocodile Hunter’ type, but pretty close!” I’m very excited to be the first “Aussie” mentor for Williamsburg Learning. Growing up, I was deeply impacted by caring role models and mentors—so much so that I realized I wanted to serve others the same way for the rest of my life. After completing a Bachelor of Business & Economics and Japanese Language & Asian Studies from Monash University in Australia, I did what most people do: got a job and paid off a mortgage. After that, something changed. We needed more from life and so my wife, five children and I left Australia and began exploring the world. We have now visited 33 countries and love seeing how travel changes how they see the world.

 Co-op Class
Have you ever taught something that seems to resonate with most of your students, but not all of them? This is often because we tend to teach in a way that reflects our personal learning style, rather than appealing to multiple learning types. In this presentation, James Ure and Adam Hailstone will show you how to captivate more of your students by creating content for four different learning styles. They'll also reveal the ongoing cycle of educational ups and downs that every student experiences. By understanding this cycle, you'll be able to help students push through it to reach new heights.

Habit Revolution
Sleeping in, fingernail biting, procrastinating, pornography, anorexia, the list goes on. Habits rule our lives. Knowing how to help your child change habits can change everything. Come learn proven techniques for building the habits you want.
As a skinny, (and somewhat nerdy), twelve-year-old homeschool student, Lucas read seventeen Shakespeare plays over the course of three months. As he read something changed inside of him, he discovered how much he loved grappling with challenging, but meaningful literature. Lucas began seeing Julius Caesar, Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet all around him. Not the actual characters, but he started seeing life-lessons from these plays unfolding all around. Since then, he  gained a deep love for education which challenges students to grapple with difficult, but rewarding classics. His passion for learning and teaching through great works led him to attend three different Liberal-arts schools (George Wythe University, Southern Virginia University, and Concordia University of Portland) gaining degrees in Politics, Spanish, and a Masters of Educational Leadership. He was thrilled in 2012 to join with like-minded educators at Williamsburg Learning, and he determined to provide high-quality liberal-arts education to students around the globe.

Overcoming the Expectation Trap to Save Your Homeschool Day and Your Relationships
We all have an ideal picture of what we want our days to be like and what we want our relationships to feel like, yet many of those days we don't meet our ideal pictures. Why? What happens? Whose fault is it? And most importantly, what can we do about it? Understanding the power and pitfalls of expectations as well as how to find success in a not so perfect day are some of the lessons that will transform your family and your homeschool.

The Power of Calm: The Remedy For Strong-willed Homeschoolers & Their Parents
It is hard to stay calm when you are under pressure and dealing with the stresses of raising children and living in our fast-paced world. In this class we will understand the power and potential of strong-willed people, and talk about how fathers, mothers and children can tap into the power called 'being calm.' We will role play how you calm both yourself and your child down at the same time without having to lose your control. The first step to great parenting is getting yourself ready for the hard times which will inevitably come. Prepare for that future by listening and learning the power of calm.
Nicholeen Peck is a worldwide phenomenon and leader when it comes to parenting, – and for good reason! Her proven system based on Four Simple Skills transforms even the most out-of-control teenagers and homes from chaos to calm within days. Though she’s an international speaker, author, mentor, former foster parent of many difficult and troubled teens, and even President of the Worldwide Organization for Women (an approved consultant for the United Nations), Nicholeen spends most of her time at home with her husband and four children, which she knows will be her greatest impact and legacy. The fact that she has such an international influence while still being a stay-at-home mom is evidence of the effectiveness of her teachings.

Getting it All Done...
One of the greatest challenges with pretty much all homeschoolers is developing an inspiring learning environment at home while still doing all the "other" things it takes to run a household. You know, like maintaining a clean house (or at least one that doesn't violate health codes) and getting your kids to pitch in so mom's not doing it all solo. Things like planning, buying and preparing healthy meals. Let's not even mention your washing machine running 24/7 and that mound of clean (and wrinkled) clothes that still need folded and put away.  If you've thought it's just not possible to effectively homeschool and run an organized household, don't throw in the towel just yet!   In this class, organizational expert (yes, some people actually enjoy organizing stuff), AnnMarie Norton, will show you the tools to create brand new systems that will encourage family work while increasing your efficiency so that you can focus on what really matters... Having fun and learning with your family!   Not sure if this class is for you? Well in case you didn't know.
AnnMarie traveled the country full time in an RV with her husband and 6 kids for nine months!
Besides achieving sainthood, she also discovered how to pair down and simplify and wants to share her secrets with you. You'll learn about some of the best organizational/educational apps and how to use technology for good.  Regardless of how many kids you have or the size of your home (did I mention 6 kids in an RV for 9 months?), this class will help you to accomplish all that you want to throughout the day, and still be able to find your shoes!
You can check out some of her organizational videos here...

The Surprising Practicality of Dreaming
Over the last 6 years, I have been a full-time Dream Manager.  Which means my job is to help people to identify, articulate and accomplish their dreams.  During that time, I have learned a lot about motivation, fear and how we can move more powerfully toward our dreams.  In this session, I will share what I have learned.  You will learn what a dream is and more importantly why you might be subconsciously sabotaging your own dreams.  As important, we will share how you might be accidentally sabotaging the dreams of those around you.  Don't worry, it's a human thing and it's fixable.
He has an amazing ability to help people discover their own dreams and learn how to go after them. His realistic approach to dreaming recognizes that dreaming is not a ‘magic pill’ but rather a new way of thinking about our ability to create.  Dan is the Founder of Dream Leadership Consulting a company devoted to helping companies and individuals leverage the power of dreaming. Before that he was the Dream Manager of Infusionsoft (a small software company in Chandler, AZ), where he helps its employees to identify, articulate and accomplish their dreams.  He also is the creator of the Dream Leadership Certification course, in which, he has supported over 100 leaders from all over the world to become Dream Managers to those they lead. Together they have helped their people accomplish dreams like buying a first home, riding elephants in Thailand and starting a foundation to help mothers facing infant loss.  Between Dan and the dream managers he has certified there are thousands who have been awakened to their dreams and their ability to achieve them

Emily Dykes

Becoming A Powerful Math Mentor
Is your math program just making calculators out of your kids? If so, why are they memorizing math rules and procedures or even studying math at all if they have actual calculators that can do everything they're being taught? The hard truth is, we don’t need human calculators any more, We need thinkers, observers, creative problem solvers, people who confidently discover truth and can communicate with clarity. I believe math can be used as a tool to do all of that, a playing field to train our students to think independent of an instructor, discover truth and communicate their reasoning in clear and original ways. I've worked with hundreds of families across the world who are thriving in this new approach to math. For them, math has become an engaging and powerful part of their homeschooling. They’ve learned to unlock the potential that mathematics has to teach their children how to think and communicate and become confident, self-reliant problem solvers. So if you think to yourself:
*I am worried that my kids are behind in math.  * I’m not sure I know math, so how am I supposed to teach it?        *I am sick of sending my kids off with workbooks. * I wish my kids didn’t dread doing math.                                            *I wish I didn’t dread math time.  * My kids are doing the work, but are they really learning to think?
Then this presentation is for you. Come learn how you can do this in your home, no matter what curriculum you are using. It’s time to create the math program you really want.
Emily is co-founder of Math Inspirations and author of Hands On Math and 10 Things Every Parent Should Know About Math. Emily’s pursuit of professional teaching began at Brigham Young University, being mentored by renowned math ed. guru Dr. Blake Peterson. After graduation, Emily moved to Arizona to teach in the public system and quickly realized the severe limitations of a traditional math education. So in 2012, Emily and her husband Joe moved their family to the Phoenix valley and founded Math Inspirations to mentor and empower homeschool parents to mentor their students using the Discovery Method to build them into confident, self-reliant, powerful thinkers.

Helping Your Students Conquer The Math ACT/SAT
So you’ve spent the last decade helping your child learn math. Hundreds of hours of flash cards and worksheets and $$$ on textbooks and now all that effort is about to be judged by the “supreme math court,” the ACT/SAT test. This judgment day can be a daunting and stressful time for your student and you too– hardest of all is that their time to complete their preparation now seems so limited, counting down the days and months before the test. How do you maximize the time that your student has to get the best result possible? Should they cram? Should they just take a million practice tests? Should they wait another year? These are difficult questions that millions of parents have struggled with before. There is an answer to these questions. In fact, the answer is surprisingly simple - and I’ve seen it help every age of student with every math background find success on the ACT/SAT. If you have teenage students, no matter how strong or weak their math abilities, this presentation is for you. Come learn one simple secret to maximize the results of your student on these high-stakes tests.
Joe is co-founder of Math Inspirations. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a degree in Middle East Studies Arabic, he pursued his passion for teaching and mentoring young people by teaching high school math in Yuma and Gilbert, Arizona for 3 years. In 2012, he and his wife Emily moved their family to the Phoenix valley and founded Math Inspirations to mentor and empower homeschool parents to mentor their students using the Discovery Method to build them into confident, self-reliant, powerful thinkers.

The Founding Father's System of Education
In this class we read selections from the 30 books most often cited by the Founding Generation. The government has removed these books from our curriculum because the government knows if we read what our Founders read, what might do what our Founders did!
Joe began his teaching career as a professor of American government at the high school and college level, quickly becoming a popular professor with a talent for making difficult subjects simple and dull subjects exciting.
For the past two decades, Joe has committed himself to sharing timeless principles of liberty with young men and women and helping them use their new knowledge in becoming friends of freedom and defenders of the Constitution.  As part of that undertaking, Joe’s biography of James Madison (The Real James Madison) was published in July 2018 and his book on Madison’s warnings to future Americans in Federalist 46 (“What Degree of Madness?”) will be published in March 2019.
